After reading "Hold The Line", I have a better understanding that my duty is not just to punish. I have a responsibility to make sure that a criminal defendant gets the help he or she needs so that the criminal behavior can stop.The book was written in such a way that it is easily accessible to individuals (like me) who sometimes feel that psychology books are a little over the head. Tye Jackson makes the material easy to understand and the use of personal experience make the material enjoyable to read.

An excellent introduction to the topic of crisis intervention. Jackson expertly navigates the various inroads to the troubled mind and provides experience-based advice for those who might be called upon to intervene in a variety of life or death situations.
Hold the Line gives a great overview of how to handle people that are facing mental illness and crying out for help in the only way they know how - threats. This is a great quick read for first responders to people in crisis. Tye Jackson has his finger on the pulse of a tragic part of our society. This is a how to book that will give one simple responses to people in crisis. Thank you Mr. Jackson for giving us something to help these people!
Tye Jackson presents an excellent tool for first responders who will face crisis situations. He honestly walks through how to handle multiple situations. His speaks through experience and provides a must read for anyone who might ever find themselves as a first responder in any crisis situation.
I have worked with the author. Tye Jackson passed away Tuesday, February 5th, 2013. He was only 36 years old and the most amazing man. His work touched so many lives, and his passing is a loss to everyone who has met him...and to those who had not yet had the pleasure.
He is a man who, most definitely, lived his live in service to others.
Rest in Peace, Tye, we'll do our best to continue your work.
